During\r\ntheir journey to a saving relationship with Jesus, many people find the most\r\ncompelling stories about Him, and reasons for having faith, come from the\r\nChristians they already know. If you\u2019re looking for proof of Jesus, ask your\r\npeers about their journey with Christ.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What\r\nthey tell you is their own Christian testimony: The story of their coming to,\r\nor walking alongside of, Jesus.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A\r\nChristian testimony can be about a person\u2019s journey to becoming a Christian\u2014also\r\nknown as a conversion story\u2014or it can be a way in which God has shown up in a\r\nperson\u2019s life. Perhaps it is a lesson God has taught them or a reminder He\r\ngave. Sometimes it\u2019s an answered prayer or a victory over sin. Sometimes it\u2019s a\r\nway in which God provided extraordinarily in a tough situation. Can you look\r\nback on something in your own life and recognize how God played a part? These\r\nare all types of Christian testimony.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n

Testimonies\r\ncome in all shapes and sizes! Some are very dramatic, with wild turning points\r\nand big \u201cAh-ha! I get it!\u201d moments; some are far less so and have a slow build,\r\nbut they are no less compelling. Some testimonies may involve great struggle\r\nand the story of how God helped the person through it. Some may involve\r\ndifferent incidents that make far more sense after reflecting on them. You may\r\nnot realize something is a testimony until much later, but when you think back,\r\nyou can see the hand of God working in your life.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

You\u2019ll\r\nfind testimonies from others to be fascinating, hope-filled, and a great way to\r\nget to know God and the power of faith.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

How do I tell my own Christian testimony?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Your\r\npersonal testimony is wildly compelling and is the most powerful tool you have to\r\ndemonstrate the love of Jesus and how he has changed you.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Never thought about giving your Christian testimony? It is important for you to write out your personal story\u2014not for the purpose of memorizing and sharing it verbatim, but because it helps to put into words some of the important and interesting details of your relationship with Christ. For help producing your story, we\u2019ve enlisted the wisdom of our friends, The Navigators<\/a>, who have created a framework for identifying the ways in which Jesus has shaped your story and a format to follow. Just answer the below questions, write down some thoughts, and pull them all together into your own unique testimony:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u201cHere\r\nis a list of questions to think about when forming your story. This provides\r\nyou a rough outline from which you can write sentences and paragraphs about\r\nyour own experiences.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

BEFORE:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1.\r\nBefore you met Christ, what were some of your needs, what was lacking, or what\r\nwas missing in your life?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

2.\r\nWhat solutions for your life did you try that didn\u2019t work?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

HOW:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1.\r\nWhat were the circumstances that caused you to consider Christ?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

2.\r\nTell how you trusted Christ, and briefly include the gospel.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

AFTER:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

1.\r\nGive an example of how Christ met your needs or how He is now contributing to\r\nyour life.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

2.\r\nEnd with a sentence to the effect that you know that you have eternal life\r\nthrough Christ.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Yours\r\nmay be a very complex story, but try to keep it short and succinct. Use the\r\nabove guidelines to keep Christ at the center of your story.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
